Boy that is some funny koolAId they got there
Much of this is directed to my letter from 3-09 "

I have to call Bravo Sierra for most of this. I guess this is what desperation looks like.

Answers to mis-information from previous Referendum - Fall 2009
A few examples of the information that the general public did not understand from the previous referendum attempts are:
The HVAC system that was reworked several years ago is not in need of being replaced but is in need of being completed to include outside fresh air requirements. The existing equipment is in working order, but the system does not meet the current building codes for indoor quality.
========================================
B.S. Try not being installed according to the building code. chiller too small. NO fresh air to over 20 classrooms. NO AC in either shop. 5 more years to pay off the loan and it needs to be replaced/ reworked/ repaired.... "completed" if you want the sugar coated version. The bottom line, taxpayers pay more money plus interest to make this system work properly. Who is accountable for this wasteful spending?
=======================================
Additional classrooms are included in the project. They are replacing 4 portable building classrooms as well as classrooms in the old “barracks” buildings in order to have all curriculum spaces in one building for the safety and security of the students.
==============================
B.S. 10 million spent, 16.5 including interest and there is 1 additional classroom?
============================
Each level of the building will have entrances on grade with no steps to get into the building. There is one ramp in the proposed design as well as a chair lift that was added during the 2008 summer. The chair lift project had to be completed out of the General Building Fund, but could have been done more efficiently as part of a larger project. Our design incorporates these improvements so that it will not have to be redone. The level changes in the building will create very dynamic spaces for the cafeteria that can double as a performance area with the raised platform at one end of the cafeteria.
==============================
B.S. Making the building more accessible by adding more levels and stairs
==============================
The kitchen and commons improvements will reduced the number of lunch periods needed giving more time to the academic schedule during the day as well as the commons will double as a performance area for fine arts, etc...
=============================
B.S.
==============================
The Speech, Drama and Destination Imagination programs will have a performance area. It is not a full auditorium, but not many, if any, schools this size have full auditoriums. A new remodeled multi-tiered classroom will accommodate over 200 seats for lectures, performances and speech contests for these programs. During the course of the committee’s research meetings, we found that these programs needed multiple spaces for smaller performances and contests not a large auditorium. The cafeteria will provide an additional performance area with its platform configuration. The stage in the main gym will continue to be used for large performances.
===========================
B.S. Location? in the back right next to the lagoon. that stinks. show your pride in the 14 year champion speech team by hiding the area in the back of the building with little parking and no access vs front row access to the metal gym. we can do alot better than this folks
===========================
The gymnasium is need for additional physical education space giving more time to the academic schedule during the day. The school day schedule cannot accommodate all the classes, resulting in more than one class in the main gym at any given time. The required physical education classes at the current JR/SR high school have to double up during the day when using their classroom, which is the gym. That means two PE classes are in their classroom at the same time. That means 60 students in there at the same time doing various activities. It’s very difficult for the teachers to keep the classes separate and to monitor them because of the amount of students and the noise levels. The main gym is in use early in the morning before school and late at night after school for both boys and girls Varsity. Junior Varsity and Junior High basketball practice as well as the difficulty of scheduling games and wrestling matches for one gymnasium. The scheduling and supervision costs of transportation of the Junior High boys and girls to one of the elementary gyms in Ceresco or Valparaiso for practice and games is becoming more difficult and expensive each year as well. In all reality, the ‘gym’ is a classroom. The additional Physical Education classroom or ‘gym’ would benefit the class schedules as well as relieve pressure for extra-curricular activities for VB and BB. No more extremely early morning or late night practices with students sometimes having several hours after school to wait for their evening practice. This would benefit academics and family time with the students being able to be home at normal hours. Most school districts have an elementary gym, a JR H gym and a SR H gym. Raymond Central does have 3 gyms but we have 2 elementary buildings.
============================
B.S. Administration confirms practices are not scheduled before school hours. if this is so great why make up BS to try and sneak it in? only 2% of the respondents to a professional survey believe RC needs a 4th gym, along with the associated overhead and expense.
===========================
The pre-engineered steel structure building for the Ag Ed, Industrial Tech and physical education gymnasium is an appropriate solution for this project. The classroom wing addition and the cafeteria/commons are budgeted for traditional concrete block and steel joist design. This was discussed at length by the committee and was a direct result of feedback from a professional survey conducted throughout the District after the first referendum attempt. The large open spaces for the shops can be easily accommodated with the steel structure and is more economical. We have budgeted for concrete block on the interior of the gymnasium walls that will be durable for many years to come.
============================
B.S. the survey was slanted and misleading. in accurate at best. why did the pro from DLR state that we would not be happy with a metal building and then come back with tin shed that is an "appropriate solution" for this school district? Perhaps to make a quick sale?
==========================
The location of the addition was questioned by some district patrons. Using the area to the south is more economical, even with the earthwork that will be needed. The earthwork and site utility (water and electrical) relocation that would be needed if the addition were proposed to the west which could include demolition of the existing 1950’s buildings would be more costly. The majority of the public gave input on the first referendum attempt that the buildings should be reused instead of demolished and that is still the plan; to reuse the buildings that are already attached to the JR/SR high school building. The JR H wing will receive added insulation and metal panels at the exterior walls and a new sloped roof that will insulate and cover the existing roof structure.
==========================
More B.S. The west location offers much better parking, access and can retain the paved parking and access on the south of the main building. $522K will pay for alot of new wire and pipe to replace the 50 year old crap that is there now.
To solve all the problems we simply need to replace DLR group as the architect on the project
